Experimental rock trio mary in the junkyard have dropped their new track, ‘this is my california’. It’s a dreamy track that establishes a unique, fuzzy, distant texture from its opening moments. Twangy, explorative guitars slowly take us from a hypnotic groove into a world of intense distortion that allows vocalist Clari Freeman-Taylor to explore her own unique vocal delivery. The band describe the track as “a nostalgic song about finding my own dreams. Seeing 'California' through films and tv always felt like a paradise or idea of success that didn't really resonate with me.” The band are heading out on tour with Sports Team this November. -Dan Peeke
